About Coach Mark

Mark's coaching philosophy is built on a decade of involvement in the sport of triathlon. He has spent 10 years racing, starting as a "back of the pack" age-group athlete and slowly working his way to the professional ranks. With a masters in exercise physiology and experience working with some of the best coaches in the world, he is able to combine the most up-to-date research with real-world training applications.

Mark has 10 years of racing experience in triathlons from sprint to the half iron distance. With multiple overall amateur wins and professional starts, he knows what it takes to show up to the start line ready to perform optimally for each triathlon distance.

Train easier to get faster. 90% of recreational runners train too hard and their gains are suffering because of it. When working with Mark he'll make sure you are always running at the proper intensity to get the most out of each mile you run. In addition you'll learn about optimizing nutrition and hydration to help improve body composition and running economy.

Cyclists

Scientific analysis for cyclists looking to increase FTP, sprint power, and aerobic endurance

 

 

Mark provides scientifically designed training plans using power, heart rate, and rate of perceived exertion (RPE). From draft-legal sprint racing to ultra-endurance cycling events Mark has experience riding in races of all speeds and distances, and has the knowledge to help you excel.

In 2018 Mark cycled 3,800 miles across the USA self-supported. Averaging 100 miles a day with a 50-pound load, this was one of the toughest endurance challenges he has completed. He went on to cycle 700 miles solo around Scotland the following year. Through these trips and ongoing ultra-cycling events, Mark has gained a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to be successful on the bike for the long haul.
